The carbon prefilter not only captures odors and gases, but it also offers the first level of defense against dust and pet hair. This carbon layer is what needs to be replaced on the HEPA drum filter (AFH-Z3000-01 / 2415110). For best results, replace the carbon layer filter roughly every 3 months (the change indicator light is displayed on purifier when the filter needs to be replaced).
