This fluffy cleaning head does not work well on carpets; it is best suited for use on hard surfaces (e.g., porcelain, tiles, concrete, vinyl, floorboards, etc.). This original Dyson "Optic Fluffy" cleaning head was first introduced with the Dyson V15 Detect (hence its name). However, since the Dyson V7, V8, V10, V11, and Outsize all share the same connection for their accessories, it also works on these models. Note that it does not fit on the Dyson V12 and the Dyson Gen5 series. With the built-in laser in this cleaning head, you can easily detect small dust particles that you would otherwise not be able to see. Dyson part number 972522-01 / 971360-01.
