Are Dyson V-series attachments interchangeable?
The Dyson V-series includes many different models, and their attachments are not always interchangeable. For example, the first model, the V6, has an older connector type and cannot use any accessories from newer models. The V7, V8, V10, V11, and V15 share the same connector and can interchange accessories, including motorized ones. However, keep in mind that a motorized attachment designed for the V15 may put excessive strain on an older model like the V7, drawing too much power.
The Dyson V12 is an exception, as it cannot use motorized attachments from other series due to a different pin layout. However, it can use non-motorized attachments from the V7 and later models. Lastly, the Dyson V15s is compatible with accessories from previous V-series models (V7 and later), but its Submarine cleaning head is exclusive to the V15s. Due to a firmware restriction, this attachment will not work with any other models.
